Schedule 2

Schedule 2

Child and Dependent Care Expenses for 1040A Filers

If taxpayer paid someone to care for his child or other qualifying person so taxpayer (and spouse if filing a joint return) could work or look for work in 2006, the taxpayer may be able to take credit for child and dependent care expenses.

Schedule 2 is used to claim a credit for qualified expenses that were paid for child or dependent care if the taxpayer meets the requirements for filing form 1040A.

The taxpayer can file Schedule 2 only with Form 1040A, otherwise should file Form 2441 for claiming a credit for qualified expenses for child and dependent care. Taxpayer should enter the same data on this form as reported on Form 2441.

For more information see the help of Form 2441.
